PADTS FAQ

Are there requirements to attend a DTS?

Our Discipleship Training Schools are designed to provide an opportunity for anyone to get involved in world missions. You do need to be at least 18 years of age & a high school graduate to apply for a DTS.

What will my day look like?

A typical week in DTS will consist of daily personal devotional time, dynamic teaching, times of worship, prayer and intercession. Small groups as well as one-on-one discipleship sessions with one of your school staff. Book reading assignments, bible study as well as a weekly journal will be part of your academic responsibilities.

Each week will also include studio time where you will learn and develop skills as a performing artist, as well as different workouts to grow in fitness, energy, strength and stamina. Some weekends may have scheduled activities. Sundays are open for you to find a local church to join with in worship and fellowship.

How is a PADTS different than a regular DTS?

The core elements of DTS are the same; the special focus adds the opportunity to develop skill in something you’re passionate about, while learning more of God’s design for you to make a kingdom impact with the gifts He’s given you.

The main thing to keep in mind is that DTS is already a full time discipleship training, having the added performing arts training will require more of your time and energy. Your schedule has been built in such a way to find balance so you can get the most out of every element of this DTS, keeping the core curriculum as a priority!

Where will I live?

Our facilities are found surrounded by orchards in the Northern California Valley on the north side of Yuba City.  We're graciously hosted by a local church, providing both office space as our hub of operations, classroom space where we worship, pray, and learn together as well as our dance studio and gym facilities.

Staff and students will live in a community house off campus. You’ll find it’s a lot like a family home, just a little bit fuller! You’ll be sharing a room with other students and hanging out in the shared space (like the living room and kitchen). This community style of living is one of our values and an integral part of our discipleship program.

Where will I go on outreach?

As a ministry trEd has a God given mandate to target the nations of Europe. Your DTS outreach will have a focus on the European continent. You will very likely visit more than one European nation during this time as we partner with YWAM, Awakening Europe and others who are full time on the ground.

So far we’ve been to several regions and countries of Europe including Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, England, Scotland,  Greece, Albania, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria the Baltic States and Scandinavia as well as Egypt, Mexico and Thailand outside of Europe; releasing the Gospel and message of hope and freedom in festivals, churches and civic theaters.

Do I have to audition to come to DTS?

We don’t have a required skill level, although the Art of Warfare DTS is definitely designed performing artists with at least a little bit of experience in dance, music or performance. Ultimately, though, our goal is to honor God with the gifts he’s given us and worship him from our hearts. The DTS staff will be on hand to work with you and help you develop your skills.

Will I get university credits for my DTS?

The Discipleship Training School comes under the umbrella of YWAM’s University of the Nations, and you will receive credits upon successfully completing the course. An increasing number of colleges in the United States accept U of N transfer credits; contact specific institutions to find out their policy.
